three basic pathophysiologic mechanisms of hypercalcemia

absorption form GIT e.g. milk alkali syndrome vit. D intoxication.
- ↑ed renal
excretion of Ca2 e.g. Renal failure
- ted bone
resorption e.g. tPTH, malignancy, hyperthyroidism etc.
