Borrelia Burgdoferi (spirochete).
It is a Zoonosis, with incubation period: 3-32 days.
Clinical
features:
Early - Localised: annular rash (erythema migrans),
fever,malaise, headache.
Late– Arthritis, waxing and waningover weeks (knee in 90%)
worsens over time.
Complications -Dehydration,encephalitis, polyneuritis,
impaired memory.
Disseminated: Haemotogenous spread, multiple small
skinlesions, conjunctivitis,nodes, aseptic meningitis, seventh nerve palsy.
