Cyclosporine:
Causes of haemolytic-uremic syndrome are
A. Diarrhoea prodrome ( typical HUS)
— E. coli (usually E. coli 0157 ; H7)
— Shigella dysenteriae-1.
— Salmonella
B. Not associated with diarrhoea (atypical HUS)
— Drugs e.g. cyclosporine, tacrolimus, mitomycin.
— Delayed complication of high dose corticosteroid therapy.
— Autologous bone marrow or stem cell transplantation.
 Hereditary.
Note

• In adult, HUS is precipitated by estrogen use or postpartum state.
