Conn’s syndrome is primary hyperaldosteronism characterised by
— Diastolic hypertension without edema.
— Hypokalemia and metabolic
alkalosis.
— Hyposecretion of renin (i.e.
low plasma renin activity).
— Hypernatremia.
— Proximal myopathy due to hypokalemia.
— Hypomagnesemia.
— Polyuria, polydipsia.
— Renal failure (15%), Proteinuria (50%).
— Elevated plasma and urine aldosterone levels.
