Melting of double-stranded DNA | Medical PG Preparations

Melting of double-stranded DNA means
A. Splitting of double strands into single strand
B. Splitting of DNA into fragments
C. Formation of triple helix
D. Separation of bases

Ans. A. Splitting of double strands into single strand.
Separation of double-stranded DNA into single strands is known as melting denaturation.  of DNA. This can be done by increasing the temperature or by decreasing the salt concentration. Two strands are separated but the bases in them are still connected by PDE bonds
